Top 09 Rock-Solid Fossils – Origin, Facts, and Description

According to the national geographic society - “Fossils are the preserved remains, or traces of remains, of ancient organisms.” Don’t be scared, and fossils are not the remains of the dead organism itself! They are just mere rocks.

A fossil can help preserve the whole organism or certain parts of it. Bones, feathers, shells, teeth, jaws, and leaves can form fossils. Fossils are a result of fossilization, which decomposes the parts of the organism and forms hard rocks.
